Course (Re)Design Institute at Yale
From May 20–22, 2025, I participated in the Course (Re)Design Institute at Yale’s Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning—a three-day intensive program focused on inclusive and student-centered teaching. Through interactive workshops on equity-focused pedagogy, assessment, active learning, and community-building, we explored core principles of effective course design. I especially appreciated the opportunity to engage with pedagogical theory and receive feedback on my course plans from Yale faculty and experienced facilitators. Many thanks to the Poorvu Center for providing such a valuable opportunity.

Teaching Institute at the Johns Hopkins Teaching Academy
From May 28–30, 2025, I participated in the Johns Hopkins Teaching Academy’s Teaching Institute—an intensive, three-day professional development program for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows preparing for university-level teaching. The institute emphasized best practices in higher education, including backward design, inclusive pedagogy, active learning, and Universal Design for Learning. Through hands-on activities and micro-teaching practice, we explored strategies to enhance effectiveness in the classroom. Many thanks to the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) for this opportunity.
